Nipping Flax
NIPPING FLAX
The pulling out of loose fibres from the end of the piece, after it has been dressed or sorted, by lapping the extremity of the piece around the strong corner pins of the switch and " nipping " or withdrawing the piece while pressing against and supporting the pins with the forefinger of the left-hand.
